Margaret Van Gorder

Margaret H. Van Gorder passed into the hands of our Lord on Thursday, May 20, 2010.
Born to Wilhelm and Emilie Hinz on April 17, 1923, in McCook, Nebraska, she was one of nine children with seven sisters and one brother. All have preceded her in death except for one older sister, Hilda Helling of California. Margaret married Franklin J. Van Gorder on December 24, 1941. Their children are: Robert of Fort Collins, John and Carole (Bloedorn) of North Carolina, James and Rosemary (Scott) of Fort Collins, Carol Steward of Fort Morgan, Valerie McIntyre and Sharon K. VanGorder of Fort Collins.
'Van' passed away on February 17, 1979, after which Margaret continued as the foundation of the family. Her loving ways and strength will be missed by her children, nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Margaret worked as a bookkeeper at The Clatworthy Company from the time they moved to Fort Morgan in 1961 until her retirement. She enjoyed playing cards, being active with church and working in her yard and garden. She especially enjoyed spending time with her loving family.
By her request, cremation has occurred and there will be a private family memorial service. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the United Methodist Women of Fort Morgan.
