Margaret Ann Willingham

Jul 3, 1942 — Nov 29, 2023

Margaret (Margie) Ann Willingham, 81, of Windsor, Colorado, peacefully went home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, on November 29, 2023.

Margie was born to Harry and Forest Tucker on July 3, 1942, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She met her father for the first time at two years old when he returned from Europe as an infantry soldier after the war. She was the oldest of 5 children and helped her mother care for her younger siblings. After graduating from Francis Howell High School, Margie attended Missouri Baptist School of Nursing.

In 1959, Margie met Duaine Willingham at Euclid Baptist Church. Duaine's father gestured toward Margie as she sang in the choir, encouraging his son to ask her out. Duaine told him he already had a date with her that coming weekend. They were married on July 7, 1962.

Margie had a 50-year career as a nurse, returning to college in her early 40s to earn her BA in Nursing. She worked in several areas, including medical-surgical, oncology, school nursing, and nursing education, and she was the nursing supervisor of the closed psychiatric unit at St. Louis' Deaconess Hospital.

Margie and Duaine raised two daughters, Cindy and Cathy, and next to her relationship with the Lord and Duaine, they brought the greatest joy to her life. Their family life was filled with music. They would regularly sing hymns—all the parts—as Margie or Cindy played the piano. Margie and Duaine modeled God's unconditional love in their marriage and toward their girls, giving them a taste of what God is like and making a personal relationship with Him attractive.

Margie lived a gracious life, enjoying many activities and hobbies: playing the piano, singing, Bible study, reading, church activities, gardening, crafting, sewing, quilting, and interior design.

Margie was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Forest Tucker, and her brothers, Bill and Tom Tucker.

Margie is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Duaine; daughters Cindy Roush and Cathy Waller; son-in-law Scott Waller; grandchildren Corey Mayhew and his wife Jackie, Jacob and Renee Waller; great-granddaughter Montana Margaret Mayhew; and siblings Merri Mooy and Dan Tucker.
