Marie Parks

d. Mar 5, 2023

Ina Marie (Horner) Parks – age 85 of Fort Collins, CO, was reunited with her beloved brothers, Clayton, Howard, Shannon, Glenn, Earl, and Floyd on Sunday, March 5, 2023. She was born on June 20, 1937, in Nashville, TN to John Adron Horner and Ina (Sexton) and graduated from Bellevue High School. After school, she spent most of her working life as a specialist in fine jewelry and precious stones.

In 1958, Marie married James "Willie" Willard Parks, and they started their family in Nashville welcoming daughters, Kathryn Marie and Karen Leigh. She was a passionate music fan of all genres, but particularly country and rock. From listening on the radio to attending live performances in the streets and her favorite venue, Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. If music was playing, Marie was dancing. She was an avid sports fan, watching whatever sport was in season, but was particularly fond of the Tennessee Titans. Additionally, watching golfers Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson was one of her favorite TV sporting events. After moving to Colorado in 2019, Marie became a Rockies fan, attending games at Coors Field with family. A dedicated domestic traveler, she loved exploring new places with her partner, John Clopton until his passing in 2018, and continued traveling throughout Colorado with her daughters and much-loved son-in-law, Jeff Finlin. Marie had an infectious laugh, great sense of humor, and a fiery personality. She was authentic and sincere, never meeting a stranger. Marie truly loved everyone. Marie was a supporter of human rights, civil rights and women's rights participating in marches with both her daughters. The two greatest loves of her life were her granddaughter, Savannah Marie and grandson, Aidan James.
