Marjorie Halstrom

Mar 2, 1935 — Apr 13, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marjorie Halstrom who peacefully departed this world on April 13, 2026, at the age of 91. Marjorie was born on March 2, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois to Dr. Vernon and Irene Schick. Growing up as the eldest of three children she was driven by the desire to see the world outside of Chicago, especially the mountains in the west.
This desire took her to Boulder, Colorado to study nursing and attained a BA of Nursing from the University of Colorado. In her travels to and from Colorado, she met her future love, Ralph Halstrom on the train as he was traveling west from his home in Iowa to look at cattle. They were married in Chicago in 1960 and soon relocated to Ralph's family farm near Cherokee, Iowa which had row crops and a cattle operation. She spent a large portion of her life in Iowa where she was a medical nurse, a homemaker, a mother, and where she took a very active role in the Cherokee County Garden Club. She often took home champion awards for various flower arrangements over the years. They proudly raised 2 boys, Dan and Douglas and they were very active in their school and sports activities through the years.
In the mid 1980's they relocated to Jackson, Wyoming which was closer to the cattle business that Ralph was involved in and the mountains that she loved. While there she continued her work as a Registered Nurse at the C bar V Ranch which was very rewarding for her.
In the Mid 1990's they again relocated to Greeley, Colorado to be closer to family. While in Colorado she continued to enjoy the mountains. She also took a very active role in the local P.E.O. Sisterhood which is a Philanthropic Educational Organization.
Marjorie peacefully departed the world surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by her sons; Dan ( Rebecca ) Halstrom and Douglas ( Robin ) Halstrom. Her memory further lives on in her four grandchildren: Jacob ( Natalie ) Halstrom, Joseph Halstrom, Dr. Amanda ( Jonah ) Marcus, and Dr. Jared Halstrom. In addition she has one great-grandchild Maxwell Halstrom ( Jacob and Natalie).
She is preceded in death by her sister Lois Kuehnle, brother Robert Schick, and husband Ralph Halstrom.
