Marjorie (Marge) Meeker, 93, passed peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, November 11, 2018 in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 1 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Ft. Collins (326 N. Whitcomb St). Reception to follow at Christ United Methodist Church, 301 E. Drake Rd, Fort Collins. Burial service will be at St. Theresa Catholic Church on Sunday, December 2 at 1 p.m. with a reception immediately afterward at St. Theresa's church.
Born in Mitchell in 1925, Marge attended Mitchell High School and graduated from business college in Chillicothe, Missouri. Marge married Herb Meeker in 1947 and they had four children: Shari Meeker Willman, Rex Meeker, Chris Meeker, and Jill Meeker Tepker. Marge worked for 26 years at First National Bank in Mitchell where she thoroughly enjoyed colleagues and customers in the days when bank transactions took place on site rather than online.
Marge's first love was her family to whom she left a legacy of love and inspiration. She is survived by four children, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a brother-in-law, and two sisters-in-law. Shari lives in Canton Georgia, with husband Harold. Rex and wife Peggy live in Lafayette, Colorado with their children, Connor and Morgan. Chris resides in Ft. Collins and has two children, Jennifer and Kevin. Jennifer is married to Caleb Penney and they reside in Berthoud, Colorado, with their children, Carson and Ava. Kevin and wife Emily Hoefner live in Durango, Colorado. Jill and husband Rick reside in Norman, Oklahoma. Their daughter Lia McHughes and husband Jacob also live in Norman. Her sister-in-law, Donna (Mrs. Robert) Pieper resides in Estes Park, Colorado. Her brother-in-law, Lloyd Meeker and sister-in-law Marian Meeker live in Redmond, Oregon.
Marge was preceded in death by husband Herb, parents Emil and Helen Pieper, brothers Victor and Robert, and sister-in-law Hazel (Mrs. Victor) Pieper.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to Saint Theresa's Catholic Church, 1715 17th St., Mitchell, NE. 69357 where she was a member for 72 years, or Pathways Hospice Memorial Donations, 305 Carpenter Rd, FTC, CO 80525 who provided care for her in her last few months.
