Marjorie Nerger

Marjorie N. Nerger, age 86, died February 6, 2012 surrounded by family and friends at Lemay Avenue Health and Rehab Facility in Fort Collins, CO. A private graveside service will be held at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins. Born Marjorie B. Nelson on March 16, 1925 in Highland Park, Michigan to William R. Nelson and Verda I. Sutton. She is survived by her older brother Robert W. Nelson and two younger half siblings, twins Dorothy (Reschke) and Richard Nelson. She married her childhood sweetheart, Paul Vallette Nerger, in 1946 and together they journeyed through life for 65 years. They had two children, Paul (b. 1957) and Janice (b. 1960). Paul and Marjorie moved to San Diego in 1956 and relocated to Fort Collins in 1999 to be near their children and grandchildren. Marge was a gracious, loving, and generous woman who cared more about the welfare and happiness of her family and others than that of herself. She modeled patience and kindness and her smile and wit were gifts to us all. She was optimistic and lived an altruistic life. She was an extraordinary wife and mother. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known and loved her. The family expresses its heartfelt thanks to the caring staffs at Lemay Avenue Health and Rehab and Pathways Hospice.
