Marjorie died on 03/08/2024 in Fort Collins, Colorado at 89 years of age.
Marjorie is survived by her 4 loving children and 6 grandchildren: Rafael (spouse Christina, daughter Marie), Miguel (spouse Karen, sons Friedrich and Sam), Ana (spouse Jon, daughter Rebecca) and Lorena (sons Benjamin and Raphael). She is also survived by her 6 siblings: Alan, Phyllis, Anne Marie, Joe, Mary Louise and Sister Katrina.
Marjorie was born in Gering, Nebraska on October 19, 1934. She earned a degree in English at Creighton University with a minor in Philosophy and Education and lived in Mexico City for 27 years with her husband Rafael Tello. Moving to Colorado in 1989, she earned a master´s degree in Spanish Literature and taught at Colorado State University.
Marjorie was a world traveler, talented musician, and lifelong learner. She could speak Spanish, French and German, and studied Japanese, Nahuatl and Italian. She will be missed by her many friends from across the globe.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Masek Foundation (425 M St, Gering NE 69341) or your favorite charity. A funeral mass for Marjorie will be held at Christ the King Church in Gering, Nebraska. Date and time pending.
