Mark Thomas Ahart

Mark Thomas Ahart passed away peacefully in his home on May 26th 2022 after a long illness. He was born on April 30th, 1957 to Claire and John Henry Ahart of Cedar Rapids Iowa. He married Dianne (Di) Brumbaugh Needham on December 21st in 1992. They lived together with their son Daniel in Livermore (Glacier View) and Fort Collins, Colorado for 30+ years. Mark was a journeyman electrician. Living in the foothills of Glacier View Meadows, he was an avid hunter, fisherman, loved riding horses and had a passion for skiing with Di, especially in Steamboat, Colorado. He was a master scuba diver. In 2006, Mark got hired by Raytheon and went to work for McMurdo Station in Antarctica as an electrician. He was awarded the Antarctica Service Medal for the US Antarctic Research Program. After two years, he got hired by KBR Construction working for the Department of Defense (DOD) and traveled to Bagram Air Base and Herat Air Base in Afghanistan and Iraq Bases as an electrician in 'Operation Enduring Freedom'. He was there for 6 years. Later, when he returned home to the States, he retired and had a love and passion for golf and was a marshal for Southridge Golf Course for 5 years. He will be remembered for his wit and ever-expanding courage and energy.

He is survived by his wife Dianne, sons Ryan Adle and Daniel Needham, daughter Aubre Kelly Dixon (Joe), granddaughters Brynne and Keilyn Dixon, parents Claire Ahart, John Ahart (Pat), siblings Kathleen Ahart (Shawn), David Ahart, Michael Ahart (Echo), Teresa Ahart Yancey (Rob), Mary Ahart Moller (Rob) and Beth Ahart Wolf (Charlie) along with many nephews and nieces and family on his and Dianne's sides of the family.

A celebration of life will take place at the Ahart residence located at 2401 Eastridge Court, Fort Collins Colorado from 1-4 Saturday June 18th.
