Mark J. Gadbury

d. Jul 19, 2025

Markton (Mark) J. Gadbury died at his home July 19, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends. Born on December 11, 1947, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Deon and Beverly Gadbury, Mark graduated from Fort Dodge High School. His passion for weightlifting led him to set new records, achieving what was known as a grand slam. In 1967, his dedication earned him the prestigious title of Mr. Iowa. Continuing the family legacy, Mark became a master plumber. In 1968, he enlisted in the army and bravely served two years in Vietnam. After his service, he moved to Fort Collins, CO, where he established a successful real estate business, Mark Gadbury Real Estate, eventually becoming a private lender in his later years.

Mark had a zest for life, which was evident in his diverse interests and hobbies. He loved collecting and racing muscle cars, and he delighted in surprising family and friends with his culinary creations, both in the kitchen and at the BBQ. Mark also built a comprehensive workshop for household and outbuilding repairs. While he may not have been the fastest, except on the racetrack, his motto was always: 'Perfect is good enough!'

On April 15, 2005, Mark married the love of his life, Susie Miller. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home, not just for their beloved dogs, cats, and horses, but also for countless family members and friends.

Mark is remembered by his wife Susie Miller, his sister Dee Ann Gadbury and his brother Rick A. Gadbury and his wife Theresa, along with numerous cousins and lifelong friends. Mark is preceded in death by his parents Deon and Beverly Gadbury, his sister Susan Gadbury and numerous aunts and uncles.
