Marriah Hope Lang

Marriah Hope Lang, a radiant light filled with love, warmth, and beauty, tragically passed away on August 22, 2024, at the age of 23. She was struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Fort Collins at the CSU campus in Colorado.

Born October 14, 2000, Marriah was a compassionate, intelligent, and gorgeous young woman. She was a vibrant soul who always put her loved ones first and found immense joy in bringing happiness to those around her. She cherished her loved ones deeply and was their biggest supporter in all their endeavors. No matter the event, she was always eager to share in it with others. Marriah's love was incredibly evident in her excitement for finding the perfect gift. She always put thought into what would bring the most joy into someone's life and went out of her way to make it happen.

Marriah's stunning beauty turned heads wherever she went. Her smile would warm people's hearts, even in moments when that would seem impossible. Unaware of her own charm, each compliment she received brightened her day. Even so, she was generous with her compliments and was always quick to acknowledge the positive qualities of others. She was truly beautiful inside and out.

Her ability to light up a room with her humor is one of the key traits that will be missed the most. Marriah could make anyone smile or laugh and did so effortlessly. She turned ordinary events into unforgettable experiences, whether it be coffee runs with her sisters, playing games with her brother, movie nights with her parents, or spending time with her boyfriend. She thoroughly involved herself in everyone's lives, and her presence will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Anyone who knew Marriah could attest to how exceptionally smart she was. She could do anything she put her mind to and solved every problem put in front of her. She had a natural talent for math, and she loved being able to tutor the people around her. Whenever anyone was struggling, Marriah was someone they could turn to.

Marriah was a current student at Colorado State University in her final semester pursuing a degree in hospitality management. As a Student Manager at her university's dining hall, Ram's Horn Dining Center, Marriah created a sense of family for everyone who worked with her. More than just the job, she cared about each person and took pride in the community she created.

Marriah enjoyed baking and crocheting in her free time, often sharing her creations and processes with others. When something interested her, she put her whole heart into it— like all the hours she spent proving herself as Tetris Champion. She approached everything with passion and dedication, always doing her best no matter how challenging it may be. At the same time, she found meaning in the little things, such as how she loved seeing and taking pictures of the ducks on campus. She found joy in everyone and everything and was always happy to share the things that made her smile. Her personal and professional achievements made everyone who knew her proud.

Marriah was a ray of light shining in the Lord's faith. We are all so blessed that the Lord allowed us to have Marriah in our lives for 23 years, as she was a blessing to so many. Simply being around her could make anyone's day better, and her family and friends will deeply feel her loss. The world as a whole will be dimmer without her, but her light continues to shine down on us.

She is survived by her parents, Christopher and Surawadee "Deedi"; her siblings, Charlotte, Lauren, Noelle, and Christian; her boyfriend, Reilly Bergeron; her grandparents, Lawrance and Dow Martinez; her loving aunts and uncles, Kanokwan Viboolsittiseri, Julie Linkus, Sue Davis, Surawud Martinez, John Litteral, Robert Lang, and Daniel Litteral, and many who also love her.

A funeral service will be held on August 28, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Johnstown, Colorado (3999 W South 1st St, Johnstown, CO 80534). A reception will immediately follow the service. Flowers may be sent to the church for those wanting to show their love to Marriah. Tulips were Marriah's favorite, but any varieties are appreciated.
