Marvel Grummert, 91 of Ft. Collins, died Friday, December 20th, 2013.
Marvel Grummert was born Alice Marvel Ulsh on May 29, 1922 in Webber, Kansas to Silas and Bessie Ulsh. She grew up in Webber, Kansas. In the winter of 1943, she went to Oregon to help with the war effort. In 1946, she moved to Superior, NE where she met Harlan Grummert. They were married February 16, 1947.
In April of 1960, they moved to Fort Collins. She worked at CSU in food service for 17 years before retiring in 1980. She enjoyed playing Bingo and doing crafts in her free time.
Marvel is survived by her three children, Jo (Don) Hannon, Dan (Tish) Grummert, and Dave (Ann) Grummert, her sister Opal Laird, and two grandchildren all of Fort Collins, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren of Wellington, six nieces, and two nephews. She also leaves a loving four-legged friend Trixie. She was preceded in death by her husband Harlan, a son M. Samuel (Dan's twin) her parents, and two brothers, Irwin and Charles Ulsh.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 1st at 11:00am at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 1200 S. Taft Hill Rd., Fort Collins, CO 80521.
