Mary (Nora) Avila 1948-2021 Mary (Nora) Avila (Ortiz), 73, went home to be with the Lord on October 21, 2021.Nora was born to Manuel and Rose Ortiz.
Nora loved cooking and spending time with family, fishing, dancing, singing, and shopping with her sisters. She was an active member of her church and valued her fellowship deeply. Nora loved being a mother, sister, and grandmother.
She will be remembered for her extraordinary empathy, her ability to love and care for family and strangers alike, and her desire to heal through prayer.
Nora is preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Rose Ortiz.
Nora is survived by her son Mario Ortiz of Fort Collins, CO, her daughter Rochelle Ortiz of Seattle, WA, her sisters Dorothy Ortiz Long and Bella Muniz, her brother Robert Ortiz, her grandsons Adam Hernandez of Lake Oswego, OR and William Gilbert of Redmond, WA, and her beautiful great-grandchildren Zayn, Salem and Leila Gilbert of Redmond, WA. She also left behind many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 1, 2021, at Cheyenne Hills Church 7505 US Highway 30 Cheyenne, Wyo. 82001. All are welcome to join in her celebration of life.
