Mary Sullivan Carrigan, age 78, of Grand Forks, ND and Fort Collins, CO died in her home on Sept. 12, 2009. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, Sept. 22 at Elizabeth Anne Seton Catholic Church, 5450 S. Lemay Ave, Fort Collins, CO. Mary Sullivan was born on December 15, 1930 to Michael and Elaine Sullivan in Timmons, Ontario, Canada. She grew up in Timmons and on the farm in Sheenboro, Quebec. She met her husband, Michael Carrigan, at a USO dance in San Diego California while a student at Mercy College of Nursing. They married in August of 1955 before he shipped out in the Navy. She dedicated her life to her passion, nursing, and spent three decades as an emergency room nurse in Grand Forks N.D. She loved dancing, fishing, gardening and being in nature. She enjoyed being the in-family nurse and taking care of everyone she loved. Mary is survived by her daughter Maureen Carrigan and granddaughters Glynnis and Elizabeth Kirchmeier all of Fort Collins. She was proceeded death by her husband Mike, brother Christy and twin sister Agnes.
