Mary Catherine Roley, 69 of Wellington, Colorado passed away peacefully at Pathways Hospice on June 18, 2025. A Recitation of the Rosary will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Collins. Interment will follow immediately at Grandview Cemetery with a reception held afterwards in Meredith Hall, Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Mary Catherine Roley was born on November 2, 1955 in Denver, Colorado to Bill and Alice Roley. Mary spent her early childhood in Broomfield, Colorado where she attended Saint Louis Catholic School. Mary spent holidays with grandparents Rose and Mike McDonough and summers in Rye, Colorado with grandparents Bill and Nellie Roley going to county fairs and developing her love of the Colorado mountains.
In 1964 the family moved to Fort Collins where Mary attended Saint Joseph Catholic School, graduated from Poudre High School and filled her weekends with skiing. Mary continued her higher education and graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Mary spent the first half of her career buying, merchandising, managing and expanding the family business. In 1990 Mary married Todd Kelly and began her journey toward a second career as a teacher. Following the completion of her Master's Degree in Special Education, Mary dedicated herself to the education and support of students, a commitment she upheld for numerous decades. Upon retirement, Mary and Todd moved to Wellington, Colorado to be closer to family.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband Todd Kelly, parents Bill and Alice Roley, father-in-law Jack Kelly. Mary is survived by brothers, Dennis Roley, Marc Roley (Jennifer), sisters, Carol Roley-Buchanan (Kris), Nancy Roley-Cooper (Scott). Mother-in-law Char Kelly, sister-in-law Kathy Graves (Mike), brothers in law, Terry Kelly (Christine), Randy Kelly (Sue) as well as numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Mary found comfort in her Catholic faith, peace on mountain skiing, hiking or biking, swimming in the ocean, paddleboarding, joy in teaching, and strength in her family and friends. Mary was an avid reader who enjoyed learning and experiencing the world.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Pathways Hospice especially the care and compassion of Sarah, Susan, Kelsi, Deya and the thoughtful kindness of Janna and Helene.

The family kindly requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Pathways Hospice.
