Mary Colleen Schumm, 64, died on December 27, 2016 at 10:30 AM at home in Fort Collins, after a two-and-a half year struggle with cancer.
Born in Chadron, Nebraska on April 6, 1952 to LeRoy and Dorothy Shotwell. She has two siblings, Kathleen (Richard) Struck and Robert (Laura) Shotwell. She had two nieces, Tracey and Darcey and a special friend, Tom Hiskett, along with many other family members.
Mary graduated from Poudre High School in May, 1970 and from Colorado State University in Business, 1972. She worked for A&A Mechanical in San Jose, California for eight years and most recently, at Colorado State University in the Soil Testing Lab for over seventeen years.
Mary's extended family enjoyed hearing about her accomplishments as a horsewoman; with many purple ribbons for showmanship and riding skills. A 30th birthday party was enjoyed by all for Princess, her show horse. Her animals all loved her including Cassie, still living.
She is preceded in death by her father, LeRoy Shotwell.
A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 2nd at the American Baptist Church, 600 South Shields, Fort Collins. Rev. Bill Prather, Officiating.
