Mary Irma Shunn

May 22, 1947 — Nov 24, 2025

With heavy hearts, the family of Mary I. Shunn announces her passing on November 24, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on May 22, 1947, in New Mexico, Mary lived a life defined by love, laughter, dedication, and an unwavering devotion to her family.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late Sonny Shunn, her partner in everything—family, faith, and unforgettable memories. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, safety, and love. After Sonny's passing, Mary continued forward with resilience and grace, supported by her loyal dog Wedo, and her sister Josie, with whom she lovingly shared her home.

A strong and determined woman, Mary proudly owned and operated her own cleaning business. She worked tirelessly and took great pride in her work. Her dedication, reliability, and compassion touched the lives of everyone she served and inspired those around her.

Mary and Sonny raised five children: Pauline, Charles, Paul, Lisa, and Chad. She now rejoins her beloved husband and her sons Paul and Chad, finding peace in their reunion in God's embrace.

Mary was one of twelve siblings—four who have passed before her, and seven who remain to honor her memory.

She leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She had a remarkable gift for making each child feel special and deeply loved. Her humor, kindness, and steady presence strengthened generations.

Mary was funny, caring, and full of life. Her laughter could brighten any room, and her welcoming spirit made everyone feel at home. Whether you knew her for years or only a moment, she touched hearts everywhere she went.

Her family takes comfort knowing she is reunited with her parents Jose Ruben Lucero and Conferina (Sanchez) Lucero. Her husband, sons and siblings who went before her—held in God's eternal peace and surrounded by love.

"I am with you always, even to the end of the age." — Matthew 28:20

Mary will be deeply missed, remembered always, and loved forever. Her laughter, compassion, strong work ethic, and countless memories she created will live in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
