Matthew P. Scott

Matthew Preston Scott, 39, of Fort Collins passed away on December 27, 2022 with his family by his side. Matthew was a long-time resident of Fort Collins. He attended Olander Elementary, Weber Jr High and graduated from Rocky Mountain High School with honors in the class of 2004. He participated in and enjoyed the services of Respite Care, Inc. throughout his childhood. After High School he was an avid volunteer in the community, most notably with Habitat for Humanity and Timberline Church Café. He enjoyed being a part of the Hearts and Horses Therapeutic Riding Center family. Matthew was known for his contagious smile, unwavering joy, and unconditional acceptance of others. In addition to these he will be remembered for his unparalleled strength, and his passion for Sesame Street. Matthew's legacy is a community of family and friends from all walks of life that will together carry on his spirit. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Charles Young, his grandparents Bill and Lucia Scott and aunt Lucia Vincent. He is survived by his grandmother Bobbie Young, parents Bill and Shannah Scott, brother Tre Scott, sister McKenna Scott, sister-in-law Brianna Scott, nephew and niece Hyson and Raelyn Scott, along with many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Matthew's memorial service will begin at 2:00p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Mountain View Community Church, (2330 E Prospect Rd, Fort Collins, CO 80525).
