Mavis Rose Erickson Yontz passed over on April 2, 2023, peacefully at home. Although we mourn her passing, we also rejoice in the great times we have had over the years. She came into this world October 1, 1935, daughter of Arlie and Ione Erickson at Peerless, MT. Married Ralph T. Yontz November 15, 1958 in Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard Billings, MT.

Mavis graduated from Peerless High School Salutatorian, MT, in 1953. She attended Rocky Mountain College at Billings, MT and Casper College in Casper, WY. Worked for First Interstate Bank and Westmorland Resources in Billings, MT. The family moved to Casper WY in 1977 where she worked for the U. S. Army Recruiting Service and the Bureau of Land Management until the family moved to Fort Collins, CO in 1988 where she worked for the U. S. Forest Service until she retired.

Preceded by her parents Arlie and Ione Erickson, sisters Mrs. Arlene Halverson, Mrs. Phyllis Swain, Mrs. Elaine Baldry, and brothers Kenny Erickson and Marvin Erickson.

Survived by her husband Ralph (Ted) Yontz, sons Bradley T. Yontz and Bruce K. Yontz, grandson Bradley T. Yontz, granddaughter Rachel M. Yontz and great grandson Wyatt T. Yontz, sisters Mrs. Janet Halverson Shelby, MT, Shirley Redd Post Falls, ID, Sharon Erickson Bethell, WA, brothers Ron Erickson Billings, MT, and Larry Erickson Mesa, AZ, and her many cousins, nephews and nieces.

Mavis is a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church where she was a Stephen Minister. Mavis really enjoyed family gatherings, church activities, boating, water skiing, fishing, camping, and best of all her bible studies each year.

Mavis will be interned Tuesday April 11, 2023, at 1:30 pm, Grandview Cemetery.
