Maxine Elizabeth Enockson, age 96 of Fort Collins, Colorado died Friday, June 14, 2013 at her home
Maxine Elizabeth George was born March 26, 1917 in Rolfe, Iowa to James and Nora George. She grew up in Rolfe and attended the Des Moines Township consolidated school north of Rolfe and lived formerly in Ottosen, IA and later Ft. Dodge, IA, prior to retiring and moving to Fort Collins in 1978. She married Palmer Glen Enockson on June 17, 1936 in Fairmont, Minnesota. He died in 1988.
Maxine worked and taught at the Singer Sewing Machine Company in Fort Dodge and later at Gates Department Store. Her last job was at Iowa Central Community College where she was a secretary at the women's residence hall.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharol Enockson and Marilyn Eloe of Fort Collins; her sons, Paul (Pat) Enockson of Canon City, CO and Stephen (Janice) Enockson of Willmar, MN; 17 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Maxine was preceded in death by her brother, Jack George and her two sisters (twins) Kathleen Schott and Katherine Carlton; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and her son-in-law, Lawrence Eloe.
She requested that any memorial donations please be made to The Mission/Catholic Charities Northern or to Disabled Resource Center in care of Goes Funeral Care.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, June 18th at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a vigil and rosary service at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Wednesday at St. Joseph's followed by interment at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
