Melody Lynn Hayes

Melody Lynn Hayes (Hergenreder) left us far too soon on September 1, 2026 at the age of 62. She was born March 30, 1964 to Sonny Hergenreder and Bonnie Hergenreder (Flake). She was a Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Best Friend. She had one of the biggest loving hearts ever known.

Melody married Fred Hayes in December of 1980. Melody meant so much too many people. She was a free spirt who loved life. Before Melody had children she worked as a custodian at an Elementary School in Loveland CO, and she worked in Longmont making circuit boards. The job she held most dear to her heart was being a mother to her three sons, Rob (Step-Son), John and Justin.

Melody had a laugh that was infectious. She loved with all that she had and then some. Melody loved spending time with her family and friends whether it was swimming, going on picnics with her boys, sister in-law, niece and nephews at the creek, tanning in crocheted bikinis, sitting around a bonfire, and listening to either REO Speed wagon or Ozzy Osbourne.

Melody is survived by her Son John(Joline) Hayes of Johnstown and their children Quentin(Audry) Shipley, Korteney (RJ) Muhle, Alaunaha Muhle, Harmoni Hayes and Bonnie Hayes, Sister Marla(Ralph) Alvarez, 2 Great Grandchildren KayLeigh, Daymian and 1 expected great grandson along with several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her Parents Sonny and Bonnie Hergenreder, Husband Fred Hayes, Sister Marlee, Brother Mark and Son Justin.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday September 26, 2026 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at 4155 Carson Lane, Johnstown CO 80534 @ The Clubhouse. There will be a potluck following. Hotdogs will be provided. Please bring a side dish or drinks. If you have any pictures please bring them along with you and any stories or special memories you have of Melody.
