He was a graduate of Cheyenne Central High School, Cheyenne, WY, and attended CSU in Fort Collins, CO.
Michael loved life, golfing, cycling, and working with his hands. He was an avid reader, particularly of authors who embodied his free-spirit nature, such as Hunter S. Thompson and Tom Robbins. He had a surfing-meets-mountains mindset, a lightness in his approach to life. He loved to jam on his guitars, paint on metal or canvas, and write songs for special people and dogs. He appreciated various forms of art and design – from street art to fashion.
Michael could talk to practically anybody and soon have them laughing. He had an endless trove of stories with an unbelievable cast of odd characters. Welcoming to new people, he was also very private about his personal life and loved deeply those he trusted.
