Michael Robinson

Michael Blaine Robinson was a beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, and friend. Mike found peace in his home in Fort Collins, Colorado, surrounded by his loving family on November 3rd, 2025. Mike was born in Aurora, Colorado June 27th, 1957, but spent the majority of his childhood growing up in Rapid City, South Dakota, where he spent most of his days playing baseball and camping in the Black Hills with his brother Monty and his sister Monica. He was raised by his parents, Charlie and Blaine Robinson. Eventually, he moved to Greeley, Colorado, for college at the University of Northern Colorado. He met his future wife, Wendie, playing darts at Friends Saloon (Old Town CooperSmiths) in Fort Collins in 1984. Mike and Wendie enjoyed many fun experiences together, including their honeymoon in Puerto Vallarta, a trip to Glacier National Park, and, most recently, a road trip down scenic Highway 1 along the Oregon and California coast in September, which Mike had been wanting to do his entire life. He and his family embarked on many family trips as well including the Grand Canyon, Sand Dunes, Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, Mexico, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Arches National Park, and countless camping trips both in South Dakota and throughout Colorado. His career revolved around parks and recreation and sports turf management, working for several municipalities over the years; eventually achieving the pinnacle of his career and lifelong goal of becoming Director of Parks and Recreation. Mike leaves behind his lifelong partner, Wendie, to whom he was married for 39 amazing years, his three loving children, and his five grandchildren, who will miss him dearly. Mike had an exuberance for life and a fierce, unwavering love for his family. He lived each day with intention, radiating warmth and kindness that made everyone feel seen, valued, and deeply loved. His gentle presence, quick wit, silly humor, and selfless nature brought comfort and joy to all who knew him. Whether through a reassuring word of encouragement, a shoulder rub, or a heartfelt embrace, Mike had a way of making every person feel at home. His greatest joy was his family, loving his wife with profound devotion, watching his children grow and thrive, and delighting in the role he cherished most: Grandpa. He reveled in simple moments, coffee in the backyard, campfires at sunset, listening to music, or the laughter of his grandchildren echoing through the house. Though he left us far too soon, Mike’s spirit lives on in the love he gave so freely, the joy he sparked in others, and the countless lives forever brightened by his presence. Everyone who knew Mike is devastated at his passing, but none more than his wife and kids, who experienced his love, compassion, support, humor, and fun-loving personality on a daily basis. Mike was not a religious person, but his family truly believes that through their unbreakable bond of love, they will meet again in eternity. His love and legacy will forever live within them, and his light will never diminish. He will be a part of them always and forever. Mike is survived by his wife, Wendie Robinson, his children, Taylor Robinson (Brittany Robinson), Lauren Pavlish (Matthew Pavlish), and Blake Robinson (Mackenzie Ward). His grandchildren are Colton Pavlish, Linnea Pavlish, Wrenley Pavlish, Oakley Robinson, and Rowen Robinson. As well as his older brother, Monty Robinson (Carol Robinson), and younger sister, Monica Eckert (Tom Eckert). His sister’s in-laws are Bev Chavez (Dave Forman) and Marilyn Gross (Chuck Gross). Mike is also survived by many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends, including his longtime friend Patrick Breen. Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Blaine Robinson and Charlene “Charlie” Robinson. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Mike’s memory by living as he did, be kind to others, not taking life too seriously, offering a compassionate ear to anyone in need, and above all, love deeply.
