Nancy Skrdlant passed away on July 27, 2011 after a 6-year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family. She was born September 11, 1937 in Omaha, NE to Eleanor and Philip Anderson. As a child Nancy moved with her family to Hastings, NE where she attended Hastings High School and also Hastings College, graduating in 1959. After graduation Nancy moved to Sidney, NE where she taught second grade at North Ward Elementary School. It was in Sidney where she met her husband Lee. They married April 15, 1961. Nancy always wanted to be a mother and she and Lee were blessed with four children. In the early years she stayed home creating a lifetime of memories with her family. As the children got older Nancy went to work for Associates in Family Medicine where she stayed for 18 years until retiring. Nancy is survived by her husband Lee, daughter Lori Painter (Joel) of Ft. Collins, daughter Lisa of Chicago, IL, son John (Joanna) of Torrance, CA. Nancy was preceded in death by her son Tom and her parents. There are three special grandchildren; Katie and Seth Painter and Ysabella Atehortua. To her grandchildren she was always known as "Gog". Nancy has two sisters, Karen Aspegren of Lincoln, NE and Marilyn Dyas of Lubbock, TX. There are many nieces and nephews and a great group of friends. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday July 30th at 10am at Blessed John XXIII University Parish, 1220 University Ave., Fort Collins, CO 80521, (970) 484-3356 Cremation has taken place. Donations can be made to: Chronic Disease Fund - a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance for patients who cannot afford their medication.
