Noreen Hansen, 80, of Fort Collins, CO passed away December 1, 2015. Born June 13, 1935 in Hibbing, MN to Alfred and Margaret (Anderson) Hoganson. She graduated from Hibbing Junior College and Los Angeles Harbor College. Noreen lived with her husband and two sons in Minneapolis and Duluth, MN for 18 years before moving to Torrance, CA where she worked for Hughes Aircraft and retired as an administrative assistant for the local school system.
Always curious and enthusiastic, she took every opportunity to learn something new whether it was for work, self-help, or simply enjoyment. In 2015 she became certified as a hypnotherapist and was near completion of her credentials in nutrition therapy. Active in her church, she also traveled internationally with religious organizations. One of Noreen's favorite pastimes was dancing -- square, line, or dancing for exercise. She loved to read, was an excellent cook, and never forgot a birthday. Visiting with family and friends was important to Noreen but it was also important to contribute to the community by volunteering: assisting in the classroom, ushering community presentations, wherever there was a need.
Preceded in death by parents; sister, Debbie Davis; and sister-in-law, Terry Hoganson. Survivors include her sons John(Anne)Hansen of Minneapolis and James, Chula Vista, CA; grandchildren, Tayla and Colin Hansen; brother, Ken Hoganson, Juneau, AK; sister, Sandy Wilcox, Tampa, FL; niece Kathleen (Scott) Maier of Fort Collins and four nephews: Joe Hoganson, Fort Collins; James and Michael Hoganson, Aurora, CO; and John Hoganson, Honolulu, HI.
Memorial service at Vineyard Church of the Rockies, 1201 Riverside Ave, Fort Collins, CO Saturday, January 23, at 11:00 a.m. Lunch will be provided at the church following the service.
This summer a celebration of her life will be held in Hibbing for family and friends.
