Norman Elliot Larkins

After a life well lived, Norman Elliott Larkins passed away at home on June 16, 2025. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 11, 1943 to Norman Frank Larkins and Shirley Jane Watson. His Brother, Lawrence Alfred Larkins was born on May 18, 1946. His grandparents were Alfred Frank Larkins, husband of Sarah Delbridge, and Frank Elliot Watson, husband of Victoria L. Muenshaw. He grew up in Denver, Colorado where he lived close to both sets of grandparents whom he was very close with. His cousins, Rick Watson and Barry Watson were like brothers to him. He had the ideal Colorado childhood of hiking, camping, fishing and Boy Scouts where he achieved Eagle Scout status. He built his own canoe, sailboat and kept busy with a paper route, and not surprising to anyone who knew him, won the Denver Post’s “paperboy” of the year. He attended Colorado State University for two years and then transferred to University of Denver where he earned his law degree. At 21, he married Patricia Lucerne Clark. They had two daughters, Leslie Lynne Larkins and Lisa Larkins Mirabito. In 1980, he was hired as General Counsel of Winter Park Ski area. He remained there for two years and then left to start his own successful title company in Winter Park. It was so successful that he later expanded into Breckenridge, Vail, Aspen and Carbondale. In 2003, he married his second wife Kathy Keck. He would say his greatest achievements were his daughters, Leslie and Lisa. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his mule “Jack”, team roping, packing, camping, sailing and wood working. He loved building cabinets and especially loved model train building. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Keck of Fort Collins, Colorado, daughters Leslie Larkins (Todd Winczewski) of Belle Fourche, South Dakota and Lisa Larkins Mirabito (Mark Mirabito) of Granby, Colorado. His cousins Rick Watson (Pam Watson) of Winter Springs, Florida and Barry Watson (Robbie Watson) of Roseville, California. His Sister-in-law Julie Larkins of Parker, Colorado and her son, Collin Larkins of Tarzana, California. We all hope he is at peace knowing how much he was loved by everyone, his family, his friends and the entire community. He was a born storyteller and we are so grateful that he had such a rich lifetime of them to share.
