Norman Zuther, age 80 of Strasburg, formerly of Loveland and Fort Collins, died April 22, 2010 at the Denver Hospice in Aurora. Cremation is planned and a memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, May 1st, 2010 at Saron Lutheran Church, Strasburg, Co. 80136. Norman Otto Zuther was born July 15, 1929 in Athens, Wisconsin, on a dairy farm, to Arnold and Olga Zuther. He raised turkeys and later sold, installed and serviced milking machine equipment. He served in the Wisconsin National Guard, and joked that it was his job to keep Minnesota at bay. He married Jo Cary-Bates in 1955 and they had 3 children. In 1966, Norm moved with his family to Lakewood Co where he sold life and health insurance. He founded Norm Zuther and Associates, an independent insurance brokerage office. In 1977 he married Mary Ann Garcia in Lakewood. Mary Ann died in 2006, when they lived at Loveland Good Samaritan Village. Norm had been living for the past three years with his daughter and 2 grandchildren in Strasburg, CO when failing health forced a move to the Cherry Creek Nursing Center where he passed away. He is survived by his three daughters, Cary Werner of Lakewood, Shari Zuther of Strasburg and Melanie Zuther of Highlands Ranch; three step daughters, Beverly Garcia-Martin of Parker, Patricia Nellor of Elizabeth and Deborah Ochsner of Durango; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Dorothy Schumacher of Dorchester, Wis and Adeline O'Shoney of Elkton, KY He was proceeded in death by his sister Doris Thomas of Indianapolis, IN. The family requests that any donations be made to Saron Lutheran Church, 1656 Main Street, Strasburg, Co 80136.
