Oliver Joseph Coleman

Oliver Coleman, 91 of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away on March 12, 2014 at the Pathways Hospice Care Center in Loveland, Colorado. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday, March 17th at St. Joseph Catholic Parish. Interment, Grandview Cemetery followed by a reception back at the Parish Hall.

Ollie was born September 27, 1922 in Festus, Missouri; one of four children born to Joseph and Angeline Coleman.
He is survived by Lee, his wife of 65 years; two sons, Terry and Mark (and Jeanette) Coleman; two grand-daughters, Crystal and Nicole; and four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Britini, Alycia and Drake. He was affectionately known as Uncle Boz to several nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by his three siblings, Augusta "Gusserie", Vincent "Bink" and Sam Coleman.

Ollie graduated from St. Louis University with a degree in Chemistry and worked as a Quality Control Chemist for Monsanto Chemical Company for 40 years.
Ollie and Lee were married on June 25, 1949 at Holy Family Catholic Church in St. Louis and lived there many years prior to retiring in Branson, MO in 1990. They moved to Fort Collins in 2007 where they became active members of St. Joseph Catholic Parish.

A devout Catholic, Ollie attended daily Mass and prayed the Rosary and Devine Mercy Chaplet consistently. He possessed an uncommon degree of common sense paying careful attention to safety, preparation and contingency planning. Fishing, bargain hunting and wise and frugal money management were capstone traits of his life. Ollie's family requests that any memorial donations please be made to St. Joseph Parish.
