Owen Johnston

Owen Cassius Johnston, our 8 ½ month old sweet smiling baby boy is once again in God's hands. Please join us as we mourn our loss and celebrate the life of our Owen at 3:00 pm Friday, February 5, 2010 at Redeemer Lutheran Church , 7755 Greenstone Trail (off of Carpenter Road ) in Ft. Collins . Owen was born May 20, 2009 at Poudre Valley Hospital in Ft. Collins to Amylynn Sciera Johnston and Jason Michael Johnston and is the little brother of Elijah Sciera Johnston. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents Jennifer and Paul Sciera of Highlands Ranch; his paternal grandparents, Jani and Bruce Johnston of Centennial; aunt and uncles, Michelle and Vinay Shah of Colorado Springs and C. Ryan "Bear" Johnston of Denver; and cousins, Torin and Tyrus Shah. Owen was a happy little boy, a fighter and a real trooper. He suffered from Biliary Atresia requiring a liver transplant that was complicated by a debilitating infection that was more than his little body could handle. "God Saw He was getting tired and a cure was not to be…" Thank you seems simply not enough to describe our gratitude to those willing to sacrifice time, money and energy to help a family in need. We are blessed and humbled. A memorial fund in honor of Owen Johnston has been established to take care of costs related to Owen's medical care and to support research of Biliary Atresia.
