Page Lee Hansen

Our greatly loved and cherished Page has slipped away and is now exploring the cosmos, soaring like a comet, shining and luminous like a star. He is free.

Page Lee Hansen died Monday, September 29, 2014 at home in Fort Collins; he was 28 years old.

Born April 25, 1986 in Wichita, Kansas, he joined his eager and loving parents and an older brother and grew to a precocious, joyful, good-natured toddler. Soon joined by a younger brother, Page was an exemplary and protective big brother as the two boys became extremely close, almost inseparable, always like two boisterous, playful puppies.

Spending many youthful and formative years growing up in Poudre Canyon, the boys discovered nature, explored river and mountain, made home movies, raised dogs, ran free.

At Poudre High School Page played trumpet and lettered in academics; he was always bright, witty and seemed to have an extraordinarily keen understanding of others and the world around him.

Graduating from CSU in Business Management, he eventually became property manager in the family business, working tirelessly and cheerfully with his parents.

Always a great advocate of antiques Page had a sharp eye for lost and neglected items which he rescued to rebuild, restore, renovate and reinvent; he felt a true calling for making things useful and beautiful again. As with anything he attempted, if he did it at all, he did it well. He was a gentle and loving soul to things, to animals, and to other people as well.

Page loved nature, outdoors, hiking, biking and canoeing. He often mentioned how care-free and invigorated he was by communing with nature; he himself felt restored, renovated and reinvented.

A constant in Page's life was music, of all genres. He was an expert at understanding and reveling in it all. He could name artists, titles and lyrics readily and lightning fast. We all loved his keen mind and marveled at the depth and breadth of his knowledge of many things.

Page is survived by his parents, Kurt and Kathy Hansen, his older brother, Michael Page (Coy) and his younger brother David Hansen, his maternal grandmother, Marlene Page, his paternal grandfather, Donald Hansen, aunts, uncles and cousins. Each and every one loved him very much more than he knew.

Our most beloved, admired and treasured Page Lee: We so wish we could hold you close and kiss you one more time , gaze upon your sweet, sweet face, and tell you once again how very much we love and cherish you, and to say that you have given us much joy, but instead: Here's the beat, darling boy…………….Drift Away.
