Pamela "Pam" Kay Shipley

Mar 14, 1957 — Sep 10, 2013

Pamela "Pam" Swackhammer-Shipley, 56, of Fort Collins, born March 14, 1957 was taken from us far too soon in a car accident in North Fort Collins on September 10, 2013. Pam was born at Poudre Valley Hospital to David F. Swackhammer and WillaJo Anderson. Pam graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1975.

Pam was many things to many people. She was a daughter, a mother, a sister, a wife, a soulmate, a granny, a great granny, a friend, a confidant, and an advisor. She was a great listener, she would give you her shoulder to cry on if you needed it but most of all, she was many people's everything.

She loved the outdoors; fishing, camping and hunting were among her favorite outdoor activities. She and David enjoyed riding his motorcycle any chance they could. They would like to go for rides up in the mountains or just around town. They enjoyed doing poker runs and they were able to participate in Realities for Children in 2012 and 2013.

She loved to watch her favorite reality shows, which included cooking shows, how to do it yourself shows, and house flipping shows. Her hobbies included cooking, crocheting, making candy, spending time with the people she cared about and reading. She also liked to volunteer. In April 2011 Pam was the recipient of the "9 Who Care Award" through channel 9 news for the many hours she volunteered each week at her grandchildren's elementary school. Volunteering at Linton Elementary meant the world to her and she loved everyone at Linton. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and helping the school out at the same time. Doing this is where she found her calling and gained a lot of strength.

She is survived by the love of her life David Shipley, her three children; Paul (Heather) Gerdon and their three children, Kordell, Sarah and Leah of Fort Collins; Joline (Korte) Muhle and their six children Alan, Shane, Kolton, Quentin, Korteney, and Alaunaha of Texas, and Charity Bul and her daughter Holly of Fort Collins as well as her step children: Lonnie, David, Terry, Vesta, and Shawna. She is also survived by her siblings, Karla, Lisa, Donny, and Susie as well as many aunts, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father David, mother WillaJo, brother Tom, sister AnnRenae, and step daughter Stacy.

Per her wishes, she has been cremated. The celebration of her life will be held Thursday September 19, 2013 at 11:00 am at The Community of Christ Church located at 220 E Oak St, Fort Collins, CO 80524. There will be a pot luck reception immediately following the services which will be held at the same location.
