Patricia "Pat" Shuler of Fort Collins died February 7, 2016, at Columbine West Health & Rehab Facility.
Pat was born November 6, 1936 in Anna, IL, the daughter of George and Ruby Lacy.
She married Jerry Shuler on September 18, 1960 in San Jose, CA.
Pat is survived by her husband, Jerry Shuler of Fort Collins; two daughters, Neile (Mark) Neider of Denver and Jill (Jonathan) Land of Caldwell, NJ; four grandchildren, Adam Neider, Will Neider, Delia Land and Eva Land; one brother, Jerry Lacy of Memphis, TN; many nieces and nephews; dear friends, Nancy Smith and Esther Morales of Penn Valley, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ruby Lacy; sister, Dorothy Williams; aunts, Opal Blanjean and Josephine Spurlock; and her beloved dog, Sammy.
Pat was a 1954 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro Community High School in Anna, IL. She moved to San Jose, CA at 18 to start a new adventure while living with her aunt Opal. There she met her husband, where the two were later married. They both worked at Universal Studios in North Hollywood in the early 60s, where Pat was a member of "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour" production crew. They had two daughters and moved to El Dorado Hills, CA in 1970. She worked in real estate full time and was a devoted Girl Scout troop leader and "gymnastics mom".
The desire to own their own business led them to Fort Collins where they owned and operated Fort Collins Instant Printing from 1979-1986. In later years she worked as a medical transcription instructor for At Home Professions.
Pat was a proud and devoted grandmother. She loved her family, her home, the outdoors, and cherished trips over the years to Rocky Mountain National Park, the Northern California coast and the East Coast. She especially loved New York City and New England. She and Jerry visited the UK and celebrated their 40th anniversary while traveling by narrow boat through one of the many canals lacing the countryside of the Midlands region. They also fulfilled a lifelong dream of Pat's by traveling to Italy in 2006.
She was a passionate animal lover, and was devoted to her kitties Wendy, Nigel and Splash.A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Contributions can be made to the Larimer County Humane Society.
