Paul Biemer Almy of Fort Collins died on January 2, 2008 at Columbine West Health & Rehab Facility. A Mass of the Resurrection will be at 11 AM on Saturday, January 5th at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Roger Lascelle will officiate. Visitation and the Rosary and Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be at 7 PM on Friday, January 4th at Goes Funeral Care. Paul B. Almy was born on August 2, 1921 in Binghamton, New York to Regina Margaret Almy and Arnold William Almy. He was the third of ten children. He graduated from St. Paul High School on June 25th, 1939. After graduation he worked for Farrar and Trefts Boiler Works in Buffalo, NY and attended night school at the University of Buffalo. He joined the Navy during World War II and was stationed in Chicago, IL. There he met his wife Dorothy, the love of his life at the Aragon Ballroom. They were married on September 29, 1945 and spent 55 happy years together. Paul worked for Eisenman Corporation in Crystal Lake, IL, as a Mechanical Design Engineer on Industrial Furnaces. After he retired, he and his wife moved to Fort Collins to be near his granddaughter, Chelsea. During retirement, Paul repaired antique clocks. Paul and Dorothy enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. Paul was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Regina M. and Arnold Wm Almy, his wife Dorothy L. Almy, and siblings David Almy, Mary Louise McGlynn, and Catherine Benton. He is survived by one son, Paul James Almy of the Cayman Islands, two daughters, Cynthia Ann Almy of Fort Collins, and Kathleen Mary Hatfield of Wellington and two granddaughters, Abigail Moore Almy of Scottsdale, AZ and Chelsea Lauren Glanz of Wellington. The family would like to thank all of his caregivers at Columbine West for the loving care that was given to their father and grandfather. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Larimer County, Food for the Poor, Inc and/or Catholic Relief Services in care of Goes Funeral Care.
