Peggy Boling

Peggy Lea Boling, 74, of Wellington, Colorado passed away on April 14, 2021.

Peggy was born in Hays, KS and grew up in WaKeeney, KS. She moved to Fort Collins as a young adult and graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1964. To pursue a career in education she attended Northeastern Junior College and Colorado State College in Greeley, CO. Peggy went on to work for the Poudre School District from 1969 to 2002. In that time, she received her master's degree from CSU in 1995, earned PSD Teacher of the Year in 1998-1999, and taught K-12 teachers Cooperative Learning throughout the country.

Peggy married Eugene "Gene" Boling in 1971. Her hobbies included dancing with Gene, playing piano at Timnath Presbyterian Church, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and directing the church choir for 20 years. And while not necessarily a hobby, she had the energy to iron everything, including jeans; stay up late to grade papers and wrapping presents. She loved teaching, especially American History, she loved music and she gave great hugs.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Gene; daughter Kate (Danny) Young of Fort Collins; son Justin (Elaina) Boling of Fort Collins; 7 grandchildren, Hazen, Nora, Ki, Gavin, Miles, Ella, and Charlie; siblings Carlene (Robert Oakley) Voerding, and Cindy (Lonnie) Younger. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Mildred Pickering.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30am on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Timnath Presbyterian Church.
