Peggy L. Thomas

Peggy L. Thomas, 72, of Fort Collins, CO passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado, Saturday August 29, 2026. A memorial service online will be held at a later date. 

Peggy was born on October 12, 1953 in Alliance, Nebraska. She was the baby sister to her four older siblings born to Leonard and Avis Langford Thomas. She was raised on the Langford homestead north and west of Alliance. Being 13 years younger than her next older sibling she was always there to love on her numerous nieces and nephews. Peggy loved to listen to her records and was an avid reader of books from all sorts of genres. 

Peggy graduated from Alliance High School in 1971. After graduation she worked different jobs around Alliance, spending a few years in the Box Butte County Clerk and Recorders Office. After her mom, Avis Thomas passed in 1989 she ventured out to make a life for herself first in Fort Collins, Colorado and then near Santa Rosa, California doing medical transcription for several years. She loved Northern California and stayed there until 2007 when she decided to come back to be closer to family in her other favorite place, Fort Collins. There she continued in her medical transcription career for several years until she retired. 

She will be missed by so many, but as one of Jehovah's Witnesses she was firm in her hope of being resurrected right here on Earth to enjoy perfect health where she can enjoy life again. 

Peggy is survived by her sister Nancy I Cassel, numerous nieces, nephews and many great nieces and nephews, and also several great-great ones as well. 

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Avis Thomas, sisters Helen Jamison and husband Bob Jamison of Lake Ozark, Missouri, Beverly Grace of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and her brother Dave Thomas of Golden, Colorado.
