Randy Owsley

Randy Gene Owsley, 67 of Livermore, Colorado, went to be with his Lord on June 7, 2023, after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Randy was born on August 16, 1955, to Wayne and Mary Owsley in Durango, Colorado.

In his youth, Randy was an Eagle Scout, and a baseball player and loved the outdoors. He graduated from Northglenn High School at age 16, then followed up with an associate degree at age 17 from Front Range Community College. He subsequently joined the Pipefitter Union Local 208 at age 18 (becoming one of the youngest members ever to join) at which time; he began his vocation as a pipefitter apprentice. This kickstarted his career as a pipefitter for 25 years. He married the love of his life, Cheryl Hollingsworth, on July 12, 1975, and they have been blessed with 47 years of marriage together. They went on to have three awesome sons, Caleb, Jacob, and Nathan.

After retiring from the pipefitter's union, Randy and Cheryl went on to purchase Distinctive Welding, Inc. in 1998 and thus became small business owners. They sold their business to their son and daughter-in-law, Caleb and Shannon Owsley in 2014. Randy went on to start two more small businesses after that, Distinctive Railing, LLC and Gabriel Arms.

Randy loved many outdoor activities. He enjoyed playing softball and golf and loved fishing, but his true passions were gunsmithing and hunting. He was an active member of Christian churches throughout his life, and most recently was an active member of Virginia Dale Community Church in Virginia Dale, CO.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, Garland Wayne Owsley and his youngest son, Nathan Gerald Owsley. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Cheryl Owsley of Livermore, Colorado and his sons, Caleb Owsley (Shannon) and Jacob Owsley (Jessica) and grandchildren, Cassidy (Norman), Ketura, Jada, Lyndi, Kendyl, Adalyn, and great grandchildren, Jasper and River, all of Fort Collins, Colorado. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Heaton of Fort Collins, Colorado and his sister Karen Owsley and brother-in-law Robert Cvek of Sierra Vista, Arizona. Randy is also survived by his father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Norma Hollingsworth and brother and sister-in-law Ron and Karen Duneman of Broomfield, Colorado.

There will be a Viewing from 9:00-10:00AM in the South Auditorium of Timberline Church in Fort Collins, with a Funeral Service beginning at 10:00AM. Following the service, there will be a reception at the church until 1:00PM. He will be laid to rest at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 3:00PM.
