Richard, son of Harold and Edith Berryman, was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado, and graduated from Boulder High School in 1961.

He was an Associate Professor at Regis University for more than 25 years and was selected as a member of their prestigious Ignatian Scholars Program.
He is survived by wife his of 30 years, Jeanne Kuckelman Berryman; daughter, Kara Berryman Burns; granddaughter, Ansley Elizabeth Burns; and brother, Ralph Berryman and his wife, Trudy Berryman of Grand Junction, Colorado.
