Richard Isaac Higbee passed away in the arms of the Lord on November 5, 2019 at his home in Fort Collins. He was born to Boyd and Lois Higbee December 12, 1925 in Walden, CO. In May of 1946, he married Vena Mae Belew, and in 1951 they moved to the Front Range where they raised 4 children.
Vena passed away June 2, 2010. Richard is survived by his 4 children, Larry Higbee, wife Rickie of Oak Harbor WA, Linda Dixson of Fort Collins, Janet Speer, husband Gale of Fort Collins, Mary Jane Alvarez, husband Joe of Las Vegas NV, 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, 1 brother, Daniel Higbee of Wichita, KS. Richard was preceded in death by his wife Vena, his parents Boyd and Lois, 3 sisters Gelene Huffman, Lorraine Huffman and Joyce Wyatt , 1 brother Max Higbee, grandson Loren Scott Higbee, and son-in-law Fred Dixson.
Richard worked at Woodward for 19 years before retiring. Richard and Vena enjoyed years of retirement by spending winters in Arizona, and during the summer and fall spent time camping and fishing in their favorite areas, Walden, Wyoming, and Montana.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the healthcare professionals that attended to Richard, BrightStar Home care, and Pathways Hospice they were so wonderful and caring. And a special thank you to his Hospice nurse Adam who was an angel himself sent to Richard and his family.
