Richard Albert Knott, age 71, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, in Berthoud, Colorado.
Born on February 1, 1954, in Ketchikan, Alaska, Richard proudly served six years in the United States Air Force before pursuing a career in engineering, where his sharp mind and problem-solving skills earned him great respect. He was known for his quick wit and warm sense of humor, and he found joy in fishing, skiing the Colorado slopes, and a good baseball game.
Richard was deeply rooted in the Berthoud community, where friends and neighbors knew him for his kindness, humor, and willingness to lend a hand. His presence will be missed not only by his family, but also by the many in town who considered him a friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Elaine and his stepson, Josh.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Knott; his children Tessa, Katrina, and Ryan; his stepchildren Anne, Jess, and Jake; his brothers Robert, Russel, and Doug; and his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service to celebrate Richard's life will be held on Saturday, September 27, at The New Freedom Outreach Center starting at 2:00 p.m, 250 Mountain Avenue, Berthoud, CO 80513; parking is available around the back of the building.
