Richard T. (Dick) Lindeberg passed away peacefully October 14, 2011 in Fort Collins, CO. Born December 5, 1919 in Sioux City, IA, most of his adult life was spent in Iowa. He married his sweetheart, Joan Wilson on July 15, 1942 and was promptly commissioned and sent overseas, serving in the Army Air corps during WWII. Upon his return, they started their family and career, which took them to Fort Dodge, Iowa where he founded First Federal Savings and Loan in 1954. For many years, Dick was a community leader in Fort Dodge. He served on several boards including; First Presbyterian Church; Chamber of Commerce; Trinity Regional Hospital; Rotary; and the Federal Home Loan Bank Board. Dick retired in 1984 to Sun Lakes, AZ where he and Joanie continued their hobbies of golf, bridge, reading, dancing and entertaining. Joanie (Nana), Dick's wife of 61 years, preceded him in death; as did his parents, E.T. and Ethel Lindeberg; and his son-in law Christopher Martin. Dick is survived by three sons, Dr. Richard W. Lindeberg and wife Jan; Stephen C. Lindeberg and wife Karrey; and John B. Lindeberg and wife Kathy; two daughters, Betsy Bloxham and husband, Dr. Thomas Bloxham; and Nancy Martin. Dick is also survived by his grandchildren and their families: Kim and Alan Strope (Taylor, Cody and Marlie Walker, Taryn and Traegan Strope); Ashlee and Mitch Janasek (Harper and Finley); Megan and Mitch Cheese (Westin); Andrew and Leslie Lindeberg (Sam and Jack); Mike and Amanda Lindeberg (Signe); Greg and Crystal Bloxham (Isla); Abi Bloxham; Ben and Xaris Bloxham; Brad and Natalie Lindeberg; and Nick Lindeberg and fiancée Cassie Mergo. He is also survived by his sister, Cora Jean (Cokie) Brummett of Fort Worth, TX, and his niece, Betsy Williams of Fort Worth, TX, nephew, Tom Brummett of Katy, TX and niece, Cyndee Valley of Bellbrook, OH. He will be laid to rest with Joanie in the Wilson Family plot in Oelwein, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 22nd at First United Methodist Church in Fort Collins.
