Richard George Murphy

Richard George Murphy "Murf" was born in 1946 and departed for his mansion in heaven on June 22nd, 2019.

Murf was the youngest son of 16 children born to John and Dorothy Murphy in Fort Morgan, CO.
He accepted the Lord as his Saviour at the age of 15.

He moved to Commerce City, CO where he was introduced to the love of his life Janis Ruth Murphy. They married on November 19th, 1966 and soon there after, gave birth to their children Richie Murphy and David Murphy.

Murf and Jan eventually found themselves purchasing a home and land 20 miles North of Fort Collins in Waverly, CO. They started a daycare where they nurtured, parented, and raised 2 special girls - Kirstin and Laura Vanatta.

Murf was an outdoors-man who enjoyed fishing, boating, riding horses, boxing and especially hunting with his sons and grandsons. He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Temple and he loved his church very much. Murf touched so many lives in so many ways. He was an extraordinary husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Murf is survived by his son David Murphy, daughter in law Faith Murphy, and two grandson's, Landon Murphy and Colton Murphy. Preceded in death by his wife Janis Ruth Murphy and son Richie George Murphy.

Calvary Baptist Temple located at 2420 Laporte Ave Fort Collins, CO will host the viewing and funeral services on June 27, 2019. Viewing will begin at 8:30am and funeral services will begin at 10am. Graveside services to be held at Grandview Cemetery Fort Collins, CO immediately following the funeral services. There will be a reception at the church after the graveside service.
