Richard "Dick" Stutz

On November 9, 2020, Richard "Dick" Stutz, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully in Fort Collins, CO after a valiant and courageous six year battle with lung cancer. Dick is survived by his loving wife Nancy of 56 years, their children Michael and Risa, grandchildren Jacob, Carlee and Richard "R.C" and siblings Gladys Garlow and Agnes "Short" McCormick.

Dick was born on September 9, 1943 in Denver, CO to William and Alvina Stutz. He was the only of their five children born in a hospital. Dick was a student at George Washington High School in Denver and a member of their first graduating class in 1961. On August 15, 1964 Dick married his high school sweetheart, Nancy. Their son Michael arrived in 1966 followed by their daughter Risa in 1969.

Dick and Nancy raised their family in Fort Lupton, CO where he was actively involved in the Fort Lupton Lions Club for over 30 years. He retired from Public Service Company after 27 years of service and pursued his true passion of acquiring anything and everything that might possibly be useful "someday". He thoroughly enjoyed creating yard art out of discarded farm implements.

In 2005 Dick and Nancy moved to Laporte, CO to be closer to family. Dick was known by everyone for his easy-going nature and kind demeanor. He never met a stranger and loved sharing his fully equipped shop and knowledge with his grandchildren and whoever happened to stop by. He was always willing to lend a hand and was generous to a fault.
