We are heartbroken to share the passing of Ricky "Rick" Lex Kysar, age 72 of Greeley, Colorado. He passed away Friday, September 30, 2022 after a long battle with Dementia.
Rick enjoyed reading, listening to music, art, his dogs, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was born and raised in Waynoka, Oklahoma and was a 1968 Waynoka High School graduate. He held a Bachelor of Science degree with a minor in History from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Throughout his career as a Medical Laboratory Technologist, he managed several hospital laboratories and was an instructor at multiple community colleges. Many have said; "He is one of the smartest, funniest guys they have ever known."
Rick is survived by his wife, Tina (Carmichael) Kysar of Greeley, Colorado; children, Erica Kysar, Alysia Kysar (Aaron Howland), and Zach Kysar of Amarillo, Texas; Alexis "Lexi" Kysar (Billy Williams) of Greeley, Colorado; and stepson Ryan Cooper (Nichole) of Minnesota; brother Larry Kysar (Renee) of Bristow, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Natalie Kysar-Williams, and Nathaniel Williams of Greeley; Finn, Adelei and Rowyn Kysar of Amarillo; and step grandchildren, Sydney, Carlee and James Cooper of Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd, his mother, Bonnie (Browning) Kysar of Waynoka, Oklahoma, and his brother, Randy Kysar of Derby, Kansas.
His wishes were to be cremated and his remains be scattered in Waynoka on Dog Creek near his childhood home. Memorial service is Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the United Methodist Church, 1439 Flynn Street, Waynoka, OK 73860 at 2:00 pm. Refreshments will be served at the fellowship hall following the service until 3:45 pm. In lieu of flowers, please send any memorial contributions to the Dementia/Alzheimer's Association.
