Robert Wayne Carlson passed into the loving arms of his Savior on June 27th, 2024.
He was born in Long Beach, California on April 22, 1950.
He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, CA in 1968 and then went on to Cypress College earning an Associate of Arts Degree in 1971. From there he attended California State University Long Beach earning his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Psychology.
Robert started his teaching career in the early 1970's at private schools, then later at Saddleback Valley Unified School District and Lake Elsinore School District. He held several credentials but most of his career was as a credentialed Resource Specialist. He retired from teaching in 2011.
Robert met his wife Caroline in June of 1981 in Sunday School at Mission Viejo First Christian Church. They were married there on December 12, 1981.
Together they were blessed with two sons, Andrew William and Peter Simon.
Robert loved to spend time with his sons encouraging their interests and teaching them practical skills.
They loved to build and fix things together and spend time in the outdoors hiking, fishing, camping, target shooting, biking, and off road motorcycling. He also passed on his love of reading and classical music to them.
Robert was always willing to try new things and enjoyed problem solving.
Robert will be greatly missed. He was a devoted and faithful husband and father, generous, and hard working.
He is survived by his wife Caroline (Deutsch), sons Andrew and Peter, brother Donald Carlson of Grand Junction, CO and four nephews and two nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents Herbert Charles Carlson and Natalie Norma Carlson.
A funeral service will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Cheyenne, WY on Friday, July 5th at 10:00 a.m.
