Robert Dean Griffin, (Bob, Griff) died peacefully in his home on July 21, 2018 at 79 years old. He was surrounded by his loving family after battling with stage IV lung cancer.
Bob was a proud native of Fort Collins who was an auto body man until 1978 when he went to work at Sterling Companies driving a loader. He retired in 2002 from Aggregate Industries. In his free time and during his retirement, he enjoyed building award-winning hot rods and custom cars for friends and family. Bob was always willing to help those that needed it without asking for anything in return.
He is survived by his loving wife Sherri (Saffer) Griffin of almost 39 years; his sister Linda (Rich) Lang of Fort Collins CO; his children Kris (Mike) Mack of Centennial, CO; Chuck (Amy) Griffin of Fort Collins, CO; Ted (Julie) Griffin of San Tan Valley, AZ; Cindy (Craig) Habermehl of Fort Collins, CO and Kerri (Ryan) Tietz of Gilbert, AZ; eleven wonderful grandchildren, seven of the sweetest great-grandchildren and many loved nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents Harold and Edna Griffin and his beloved sister LaVeta Evans.
Bob enjoyed fishing, hot rods and custom cars. After working out of town for so many years, he loved being at home with frequent visitors of close friends and family. The Griffin homestead was host to many parties and family reunions.
Most of all, Bob loved his family and was so proud of all his children and families. He had lifelong friends who remained close.
Celebration of Life will be Saturday, July 28th 2:00pm at the American Legion Post 4 of Laporte, CO. Hot Rods, the color purple and any photos you would like to share are welcome in Bob's honor.
