Robert Allen Jensen

d. Oct 6, 2024

Robert Allen Jensen was born January 30, 1941 in LaFollette, Wisconsin to Dora N Jensen. "Rob" to his family and "Bob" to his friends went home to his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ on October 6, 2024 at Pathways Hospice Inpatient Care Center.

Bob's youth was spent in Superior, Wisconsin. He had fond memories of playing sandlot baseball, made up games, trapping weasels for pelts, and spending his lunch money on ice cream at Bridgeman's when school was closed due to frigid temperatures.

After high school, Bob joined the US Army and served as a military policeman. He ended his tour of duty in La Rochelle, France. Bob came to Denver, CO following his service. He would tell you that he was on his way to San Diego, Calif, where it was warm all the time. But he ran out of money in Denver so he stayed. Eventually, most of Bob's family moved to Denver.

Bob met his wife, Ginger, in Denver at a church young adults picnic. They married May 11, 1974 in Humboldt, KS. After their marriage, Bob attended Red Rocks Community College and Arapahoe CC. In 1977 the couple moved to Fort Collins, CO where their three sons were born.

Bob's work life was long and varied. In Denver he was a supervisor for Gates Rubber CO, sold carpet for his Uncle Dick and brother, Wayne, and was a warehouseman for PPG, industries. The move to Fort Collins was due to Bob becoming a Territory Sales Manager for PPG Automotive Refinish division covering five states. He was employed by PPG for 30 years. After retiring from PPG, Bob, Ginger, and youngest son, Aren moved to Navarre, FL.

There Bob published the first "Tidbits" paper in Florida. They returned to Fort Collins and Bob did various part-time jobs. He applied for a job with North Poudre Irrigation Company as a ditch rider. He had no idea what a ditch rider was, but he got the job. He spent 13 years every irrigation season with NPIC. Bob finally fully retired when he was 75 years old.

Bob was dedicated to raising his family and caring for them and loving his grandchildren. He was active in his church, The Bridge, formerly Bethel Baptist, for many years. Bob enjoyed playing baseball, softball, volleyball, golf, and billiards. His other interests include music, old cars, traveling, canoeing the waters of CO and Wisc, home building projects and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed a good joke and a friendly teasing. But he also made you think seriously about the world around you, and what was happening in it.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dora, sister, Nancy and brothers Jim and Wayne.

Bob is survived by his wife, Ginger, sons, Jim and daughter Sophia, Eric (Serena) and stepson, Kaden, Aren (Lisa) and children Peter and Freya; brother Gary Snyder (Barbara), nine nephews and one niece and cousin Geri McMillan and her family.
