Robert Brooks "Bob" Knowlton, 81, of Wheatland, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, at his home.
Bob was born on August 22, 1943, in Aurora, Colorado, to Roy Brooks Knowlton and Mary Kathrine Hoery. He was raised by his maternal grandparents, the Hoerys, on a farm in Aurora. From a young age, Bob had a passion for cars and a fascination with ancient artifacts.
A proud veteran, Bob served three tours in Vietnam as a member of the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Hancock (CVA-19). After his service, he became a lifelong entrepreneur and natural salesman. He loved the outdoors and spent his time hiking, fishing, hunting, and four-wheeling. In the mid-1990s, Bob raced a blown, injected alcohol 1967 Camaro at the drag strip in Grand Junction, Colorado—a testament to his love for speed and adventure.
Known for his mischievous sense of humor, Bob was a true prankster. Whether it was pushing a glass of water off the edge of a table to soak someone or sneaking black pepper into a can of Copenhagen, he always found a way to keep people on their toes.
Bob is survived by his son, Robert M. Knowlton (Teri); Grandchildren, Brittany (Marcus) and Robert; Great-grandchildren, Abriella, Mac Jr., and Abriana; cousins, Rocky and John Dudich; and step-children, Amanda and Nick Turner.
He was proceeded in death by his grandparents (the Hoerys), his father Roy Brooks Knowlton, and his mother Mary Kathrine Hoery.
Dad will be deeply missed. There will always be a hole in our lives where his laughter, stories, and spirit once were.
