Dr. Robert K. (Bob) Lantz, Phd. passed away peacefully on January 22 after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bess Louise McCracken (Lantz) and his father William Leonard Lantz. He is survived by one older brother, William R. Lantz of Cadillac, Michigan, and first cousins Kay Van Natta of Davisburg, Michigan, and Lynne Troy of Raleigh, NC.
Bob was an active cyclist, skier and, early on, quite the target pistol marksman. He also served in the United States Coast Guard. He was born in Detroit and lived thereafter in Livonia and E. Lansing, MI, Erie, PA, Colorado Springs, CO and then was a long- time resident of Fort Collins, CO. An analytical chemist by education, he owned and operated Rocky Mountain Instrumental Laboratories in Fort Collins. He enjoyed history, politics and spirited debate.
A burial service with military honors will take place at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins at 11:00 am, Thursday, January 28th next to his mother and father. He will be greatly missed.
