Robert Minot Russell

Dec 7, 1933 — Apr 7, 2015

Robert M (Bob) Russell, 81 passed away peacefully on April 7, 2015, at UCH Poudre Valley Hospital with his wife Ann and stepdaughter Karen at his side. Bob as born in Waukegan IL on December 7, 1933, to Fred and Theresa (Galinski) Russell, growing up in Lake Forest, Illinois. After graduating from Lake Forest High School in 1952, he served 2 years as a Navy Seabee. Upon completion of his service he was employed by Illinois Bell, retiring in 1989. He is preceded in death by his parents and son James. He is survived by his wife Ann, son Robert of Tomahawk, WI, step-daughters Nancy Sanders, Karen Moore, and step-sons Tim Sanders (and Pat) and Mike Sanders (and Jane), 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his two, always at his feet, dogs, Bailey and Foster, numerous in-laws, and cousins. He enjoyed many years fishing for perch in Lake Michigan, camping the US and Mexico, and visiting other countries

Bob was a loving and caring guy with that old "Chicago" sense of humor always having a comeback in conversations. He was a gifted talented man. Among one of his many talents was making wooden ornaments for decorating our Christmas trees, giving them to family and friends. He also enjoyed working with stained glass, but his most favorite hobby was weaving the Nantucket style baskets.

We are especially thankful for the care and concern given to Bob from his telephone buddies, neighbors, nurses, aides and therapists at PVH and Columbine Lemay Rehab. His teasing and joking was endless.
