Rochelle Ann Bratton of Fort Collins, Colorado passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012. Rochelle was born in Fargo, North Dakota on July 28, 1957. She grew up in Dickinson, North Dakota where she was the oldest of five children. Rochelle was an honored varsity basketball player during her high school years. She was a graduate of Dickinson State University where she received her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education in 1979. She taught kindergarten in Dickinson, North Dakota until moving to Colorado. She moved to Fort Collins in 1986 and shortly thereafter began teaching in Thompson School District in Loveland, Colorado. She was most recently teaching second grade at Monroe Elementary in Loveland. Rochelle was a beloved teacher for over 30 years in North Dakota and Colorado. She was an avid biker, hiker, outdoor adventurer and animal lover. She was a cherished wife, daughter, sister, aunt, teacher, friend and neighbor. She will always be remembered for her sweet, gentle spirit. Survivors include her husband Stephen Bratton, (beloved cat Milo), parents Duane and Colleen Hanson of Fort Collins, brothers Douglas Hanson (Donna) of Los Angeles, CA, Kenton Hanson of St. Paul, MN, Mark Hanson (Kendra) of Fort Collins, and sister Laurie Welken (Wayne) of Bloomington, IN, niece Alison Welken, nephews Tyler Welken, Jordan Hanson, Dillon Hanson, Kylan Hanson, Cameron Hanson, Matthew Hanson and Andrew Hanson. A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 am Saturday, March 3 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Fort Collins, CO. Memorial donations can be made to Our Saviors Lutheran Church or Muscular Dystrophy Association.
