Rosanne Hall

Jun 22, 1938 — Apr 2, 2011

Rosanne Turley Hall, 72, of Fort Collins, died April 2 after a three-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born June 22, 1938, in Seattle, Wash., to Joseph and Lucille Houlihan Turley. Rosanne married Taylor Hall on Nov. 28, 1959, and together they lovingly raised four children. Throughout her life, Rosanne fearlessly pursued a variety of hobbies. She was a beautiful seamstress, learned to ride a horse and gather cattle on a New Mexico ranch, and took up fiddle playing. She was an active volunteer and worked for the Visiting Nurses Association, served meals at various homeless shelters, and delivered hundreds of Meals on Wheels. But Rosanne's passion was children – her own and those in need. A tireless advocate for children in crisis through the Court Appointed Special Advocates program, Rosanne was a caseworker for many years and a guardian ad litum. Rosanne is survived by Taylor, their children, Katherine of Taos, N.M.; Maggie (Jerry) of Fort Collins; Mike (Emily) of Taos, N.M.; Annie (Warren) of San Carlos, Calif.; grandchildren Ian, Flynn, and Fiona Walsh of Fort Collins; Claudia, Isabel, and Ethan Mayoss of San Carlos, Calif.; Evy and Archer Hall of Taos, N.M.; and granddaughter-in-law Julie Walsh and great-grandsons, Triston and Tanner Walsh, of Millstadt, Ill. She is also survived by a sister, Katy (Bill) Earley of Parker, Colo.; brother Mike (Katie) Turley of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and brother-in-law William (Irene) Hall of Walnut Creek, Calif. Rosanne was preceded in death by her parents, brother Mickey Turley, and grandson Sgt. Nick Walsh, USMC. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held Saturday, April 9, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Collins. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to ovarian cancer research, CASA of Larimer County, or Pathways Hospice.
